Terms of Service
Real reputation, real rules.
1. Introduction
Welcome to Aura, operated at ifarm.club. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Aura's products: The Farm (media capture and aura point attribution) and The Card (identity beacon and social feed), collectively "the Service."
By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old (or the applicable age of digital consent in your jurisdiction) to use Aura.
3. Your Account & Identity
3.1 Identity Model
Aura uses cryptographic keypairs for identity, not email/password. When you create an account:
- A keypair is generated on your device
- Your public key is your identity on the network
- Your private key never leaves your device
- You are responsible for safeguarding your private key. Aura cannot recover it. Loss of your private key means loss of access to your account.
3.2 Account Responsibilities
- You are responsible for all activity under your account
- You must provide accurate information
- You may not impersonate others
- You may not create multiple accounts to manipulate aura scores
4. The Core Mechanic: Aura Points
4.1 How Points Work
Aura points are attributed by users through The Farm: record someone doing something notable → attribute points → they claim them. Points represent community recognition, not monetary value.
4.2 Point Attribution Rules
When you attribute points to someone:
- You must have been present at the event (verified by telemetry correlation)
- The attribution must be genuine (not fabricated, not coordinated gaming)
- You may be asked to confirm or defend your attribution if challenged
4.3 Point Claiming
When someone attributes points to you, you may accept or reject the attribution. Accepted points become part of your public aura score. Rejected points are discarded.
4.4 No Monetary Value
Aura points have no cash value. They are not a currency, security, or financial instrument. They represent social reputation within the Aura community, nothing more.
5. Content & Conduct
5.1 Your Content
You retain ownership of content you create. By uploading content to Aura, you grant us a limited license to display it within the Service, process it for validation and attribution, and store it as described in our Privacy Policy.
5.2 Prohibited Conduct
You may not:
- Upload content you don't have the right to share
- Use the Service for harassment, bullying, or intimidation
- Upload illegal content
- Attempt to manipulate or game the aura point system
- Reverse engineer, scrape, or extract data from the Service
- Use the Service for surveillance or tracking without consent
- Impersonate Aura or its representatives
5.3 Content Moderation
Aura reserves the right to remove content that violates these Terms. Moderation decisions may be appealed. Our moderation philosophy: community-driven, transparent, with due process.
6. Privacy
Your privacy is governed by our Privacy Policy. Key points: telemetry is processed on-device by default, you control what's uploaded, we don't sell your data, face recognition is opt-in.
7. Anti-Gaming & Fair Play
Aura's value depends on genuine, earned reputation. Gaming the system harms everyone.
7.1 Prohibited Gaming Behaviors
- Sybil attacks: Creating multiple accounts to attribute points to yourself
- Collusion rings: Coordinating with others to artificially inflate scores
- Fabricated events: Attributing points for events that didn't happen
- Bot automation: Using automated tools to generate attributions
- Telemetry spoofing: Falsifying geolocation, IP, or other telemetry data
7.2 Consequences
Violations may result in removal of fraudulently attributed points, temporary or permanent suspension, account termination, or public notation on your profile.
7.3 Detection
Aura uses automated heuristics and community reporting to detect gaming. All enforcement actions are logged and appealable.
8. Community Validation & Disputes
Point attributions may be confirmed or challenged by other users who were at the same event. The community consensus mechanism determines whether attributions stand.
If you believe an attribution about you is incorrect: challenge it through the Service, provide evidence if available, the community votes, and Aura may make a final determination if consensus is unclear.
You may appeal moderation or validation decisions to Aura. Appeals are reviewed by a human. Decisions are final but may be revisited if new evidence emerges.
9. Intellectual Property
9.1 What We Own
The Aura brand, logo, visual identity, the Service's code, design, and infrastructure, the "Aura" name and ifarm.club domain.
9.2 What You Own
Your content (recordings, attributions, profile), your reputation data (aura score, point history), and your cryptographic identity (keypair).
9.3 Open Source
Portions of Aura may be open-sourced. Check our GitHub repository for license details.
10. Third-Party Services
Aura may integrate with third-party services (payment processors, cloud providers, etc.). We are not responsible for third-party services' practices. Review their terms and policies separately.
11. Disclaimers & Limitations
11.1 Service "As Is"
Aura is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We don't guarantee uninterrupted service, error-free operation, that all attributions are accurate, or that your aura score will have any particular value or meaning.
11.2 Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Aura is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages; loss of data, reputation, or goodwill; actions of other users; or damages arising from your use or inability to use the Service. Our total liability is limited to the amount you've paid us (which is currently $0 — Aura is free).
11.3 Indemnification
You agree to indemnify Aura against claims arising from your violation of these Terms or your content.
12. Termination
12.1 By You
You may stop using Aura at any time. Delete your account through the Service. Your profile and personal data will be removed per our Privacy Policy. Point attributions you made about others remain (anonymized).
12.2 By Us
We may suspend or terminate your account for violation of these Terms, extended inactivity (2+ years), or legal requirements. We will notify you before termination when feasible.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms. For material changes: 30-day notice via in-app notification and/or email. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. If you disagree, stop using the Service before changes take effect.
14. Governing Law & Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of [jurisdiction TBD]. Disputes will be resolved first through informal resolution (contact us), then binding arbitration if needed. Class actions are waived. Either party may seek injunctive relief in court for intellectual property violations.
