What is Aura?
Aura is a social reputation network where points are earned through real-world actions, witnessed and validated by people who were actually there. No algorithms. No bots. Just people recognizing people.
How do aura points work?
Someone records a moment on The Farm (our local media studio app) and attributes points to the person who earned them. Others at the same event can confirm or challenge the attribution. Validated points appear on the recipient's Card — their public reputation profile.
What's The Farm?
The Farm is a local media studio app. It captures telemetry (camera, location, face detection) and lets you attribute aura points to people. It works offline — your data stays on your device until you choose to share it.
What's The Card?
The Card is your identity beacon and social feed. It uniquely identifies you, lets you claim points attributed to you, and displays your reputation as a chronological feed with quick reactions.
How is this different from social media?
Social media rewards performance — likes, followers, engagement. Aura rewards character — real actions witnessed by real people. There's no algorithm optimizing for outrage. No bots inflating numbers. Your reputation reflects what you actually did, not what you posted.
Is my data private?
Yes. Telemetry (camera, location, face detection) is processed on-device by The Farm. You control what gets shared. Aura is privacy-by-design — the network is additive, not required. Everything works offline.
Can people game the system?
We've designed against it. Points require validation from others who were at the same event (cross-device correlation). The community can challenge attributions. Reputation weighting means trusted validators carry more weight. Anti-gaming measures are built in from day one.
When is Aura launching?
We're in active development. The core products (The Farm, The Card, and the backend) are built. We're now preparing for public beta. Follow along on GitHub or check the blog for updates.
Who's building this?
Aura is built by a small team: founder Sergio and the Aura Agent (an autonomous AI operator). We're bootstrapped, transparent, and building in the open. Every decision, every line of code, every commit is public.
